Climate Notes
The above data was compiled from NOAA National Data Center Comparative Climatic Data.
The Morning Average Relative Humidity seems high until compared with places such as Eugene, Oregon, which often have morning humidities of 80-90%. The average wind speeds appear more benign than in reality. The winds really do blow in the springtime, March through May. Peak afternoon winds of 20-30 MPH are not uncommon. The winds usually pick up in the afternoons but may blow all day long. The springtime winds usually blow out of the W or SW, depending on the weather patterns. Sometimes there are winds out of the E when storms come through. Mornings are usually safer. June into July are the hottest months. As with the rest of the Rockies, July is the afternoon thunderstorm season. The heat of the day causes the sometimes quite violent storms to build up in the afternoons which then often clear after sundown. The storms decrease in number in August. September through November usually have spectacular weather, cool mornings, clear blue skies, and light winds. Due to the elevation, 5280 feet plus, Albuquerque gets quite cold in the winter and does get some snowfall. There often is great weather in January for some reason. February and March are cold and snowy. Depending on the climactic cycle, some winters aren't and it's sunny all winter with little precipitation.
