Bernallilo County Government Home Page - Following bond elections there are calls for capital improvement projects that might get included. Usually, there are way more requests than money. Greater Albuquerque Bicycling Advisory Committee (GABAC) - A citizens advisory committee meets the second Monday of every month to review and comment on projects that effect on street cycling within the Albuquerque metropolitan area. GABAC meetings are open to the general public. Anyone interested in more information about GABAC, please call 768-3668, email.
Greater Albuquerque Recreational Trails Committee. (GARTC) - A citizens advisory committee meets the third Tuesday of every month to review and comment on policy and projects affecting trails ( bike, pedestrian, equestrian, in line skates, etc.) within the Albuquerque metropolitan area. GARTC meetings are open to the general public. Anyone interested in more information about GARTC, please call 768-8632.

  Effective Cycling Classes are given monthly. These classes are usually a full Saturday in length. This class deals with riding in traffic, safety issues, and riding skills. The class is most useful to new riders and children but seasoned cyclists can gain new insights. This class gives some good insights into how drivers view cyclists and where accidents are likely to happen. For instance, cyclists hit from behind by a car make up a tiny number of accidents. Material from Effective Cycling by John Forester is presented. Call 768-BIKE.
