This is a really scenic ride, quite a climb. There's a nice luch spot at Bitteroot Lake on the west side of pass. Look for the Bear's Tooth from the top. There are stunning views above treeline. There's a rest area on the east side of pass on the fast descent. Red Lodge is another nice town.

Lander - Red Canyon - Pinedale
Steep climb up Red Canyon. South Pass is not much of a "pass", it's more an "area". Historic towns of South Pass and Atlantic city several miles off the highway. A nice rest area is at the crossing with Sweetwater creek about 42 miles from Lander. There is a cafe at Farson at junction of Hwy28 & Hwy191. Freemont Lake is 4 miles north of town and has surprisingly beautiful mountain vistas over the lake. Freemont Lake is Wyoming's second largest natural lake and is simply georgous.

Pinedale - Jackson
Terrific, long descent into Hoback canyon. Just past Hoback junction, turn north on Hwy189 and turn right on Henry's Rd. at the "Teton Mystery" , follow this for a few miles with no traffic before crossing the bridge to 189 again for a couple of miles to the bikepath that begins about 5-8 miles south of Jackson to avoid traffic on Hwy189.
